Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday stated that the killing of Apple’s sales manager, Vivek Tiwari, by a policeman in Lucknow was not an encounter and investigation will be conducted in this incident, if needed. He added that a CBI inquiry we will be ordered into the incident, speaking to media .

Vivek Tiwari was a resident of Lucknow. Earlier the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh said that it was a case of murder and the accused policeman would be dismissed from duty. The UP DGP, who was in Ghaziabad on Saturday, said, “This is a murder. The culprit will be dismissed by (Saturday) evening. We will not tolerate such incidents and strong action will be taken.”

 

Police registered a case against two policemen and arrested them in connection with the shooting of Apple company manager Vivek Tiwari late on Friday night in Lucknow. It is being told that Vivek Tiwari was going somewhere along with his former colleague Sana Khan's car, during this time a motorcycle collided with the police patrolling his vehicle, after which the police tried to stop them, when they did not the police started firing, the bullet went straight to the head of Vivek, which resulted in death .

Meanwhile, Lucknow Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani addressed a press conference, informing mediapersons that a special investigation team had been formed to investigate the incident.

Sana Khan, who was present in the car with Vivek complained of this matter to the police, Sana Khan has alleged that police personnel followed them with bike and then fired bullets targeting them. After which Lucknow police has registered a case against two policemen and ordered an inquiry. To investigate the matter, police officers have constituted a special Investigation Team. Police said that this incident was done at Gomti Nagar police station on Friday night. Kalpana Tiwari, wife of late Vivek, has approached the CM Yogi Adityanath of UP that he should come to his house and talk to her, as well as take strict action against the police.
