Srinagar: Amarnath Yatra is in the spotlight these days. A video of the Baltal route leading to Amarnath is going viral on social media, which has not only shocked people but also made everyone proud of the army. In the video, ITBP jawans are seen pulling out of the huge boulders coming from the top of a glacier at Sangam Sithan on Baltal road to evacuate the passengers safely and the video is now being widely appreciated.

There are about 5000 ITBP personnel on both the routes of Amarnath Yatra, who are working well with other security agencies. According to the information received, some special squads are prepared by ITBP for medical emergency and are on duty for a number of jawans who have been given special medical training before travel duty.

More importantly, these officials patrol every two to three kilometres. Oxygen cylinders are also present on the back of the seals. They are working to help all possible passengers. The holy pilgrimage of Baba Amarnath has begun from 1st of July. More than 50 thousand devotees have visited Baba Bhandari so far.
