'It's like rubbing salt on our wounds...', shashi tharoor furious over BJP MPs' dharna

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the suspension of 12 opposition MPs, saying the protest by ruling party MPs in Parliament is like sprinkling salt on the wound. Talking to media, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said, "Bjp MPs coming here was like rubbing salt on the wound and inciting unprovoked. '

Tharoor further said, "If the BJP should have shown something, it is solidarity. My colleagues were unjustly suspended by a party which has caused institutional disruption. During the monsoon session of Parliament, 12 Opposition MPs suspended for "indecent conduct" in the Rajya Sabha staged a dharna at the same place to protest against the dharna of 12 Opposition MPs in the Parliament House premises.

Several MPs including BJP MPs Arun Singh, Syed Zafar Islam, Rakesh Sinha joined the demonstration in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The MPs carried placards in their hands with photographs of the uproar in the state during the last session.  Some placards read, "Democracy or hooliganism. ''
