Srinagar: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in the Alamdar area of Srinagar early this Friday. Two CRPF personnel were also reportedly injured during the encounter. According to the information received, the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of the slain terrorists have been taken into custody by the security forces. In fact, weapons have also been recovered from the encounter site. The security forces are said to have given the militants a chance to surrender before they started firing on them but they flatly refused to lay down their weapons.

According to reports, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has informed on his Twitter handle that the operation was over after two terrorists were killed in a Srinagar encounter. Giving details, he said, "With today's operation, the police along with the security forces have killed 78 terrorists in the Valley so far this year. Most of the terrorists killed in these encounters belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba. About 39 out of 78 terrorists belonged to Lashkar while others belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen, Albadar, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and AUGH. He also congratulated the police and security forces personnel for the successful operation.''
