Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, the watchman will no longer be seen saying 'Jaagte Raho'. To make the criminals panic and feel safe among the general public, UP police will now siren 'Jaagte Raho' during patrolling at night. The initiative has just been launched in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow as a trial. If successful, it will be implemented throughout the city.

In the early days, Lucknow's '100 dial' petrol vehicle will hear sirens of 'Jaagte Raho' at night and will be implemented across the state soon thereafter. Briefing reporters on the matter, a police official said, as a trial, sirens have been installed on all vehicles in Hazratganj Circle. The Lucknow Police has launched it as a pilot project and the 'Jaagte Raho' sirens are making everyone aware all over the area.
UP police say the new sirens will curb crime. State Director General of Police OP Singh has said that we have controlled the crime graph to a great extent. We are trying to create a good image of the police force in the minds of the people and are taking new initiatives, it is also one of them.
