Jabalpur: Coronavirus-positive detainee Javed Khan, who fled from the isolation ward of the city's Medical College Hospital, has been arrested by the police at Madanpur in Narsinghpur. According to the information, after fleeing from the hospital, he went by truck to the highway and was stealing bikes from there and running towards Indore. The police, who are checking, caught him and arrested him. Javed had run away at 4 pm Sunday, four policemen posted in security remained unaware of this. These four soldiers have been suspended. A reward of Rs 50 thousand was announced on Javed's arrest.

Javed used to keep a lock outside the ward from which he escaped. If sources are to be believed, the lock on the door of the ward has been found broken. It is feared that Javed was helped from outside to escape. Police officials could not tell whether he was in handcuffs at the time of the incident. It is being told that the policemen were instructed to stay away from the isolation ward in terms of security, taking the advantage of the same Javed ran away. He was brought from Indore to Central Jail Jabalpur on April 9 along with another accused. Jail Superintendent Gopal Tamarkar refused to enter the jail and sent him to Victoria Hospital for medical examination. On April 10, admitted to Victoria, samples of his throat swab were sent to NIRTH ICMR for examination.

Apart from Javed, three other prisoners have also been sent from Indore, who are lodged in the Central Jail.
