Patna: As the nation awaits the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections, both the NDA and India Alliance are confident of victory, albeit with contrasting projections. Amidst the fervor, Jagdanand Singh, RJD's state president, asserted that the India Alliance would ascend to power, with a Congress leader assuming the role of Prime Minister. Singh's declaration, made during an interview with a news channel, stands in contrast to NDA's claims of securing over 400 seats.
Exit polls released on June 1 depicted a landslide victory for the NDA, with projections ranging from 350 to over 400 seats. Conversely, the India Alliance is forecasted to garner around 150 seats. Despite these figures, Singh remained resolute in his assertion of the India Alliance forming the government. However, he refrained from specifying the constituencies where victory or defeat might occur.
Singh also addressed trivialized issues such as fish and mutton, which were politicized by the opposition. Meanwhile, leaders from various opposition parties, including Congress, expressed optimism regarding the India Alliance's performance. Rahul Gandhi projected a tally of 295 seats, while Sonia Gandhi urged patience until the official results, dismissing the exit poll figures as inaccurate. Tejashwi Yadav echoed similar sentiments, anticipating a significant victory for the India Alliance.
With the outcome poised to be revealed on Tuesday evening, the political landscape awaits the verdict of the electorate, determining the trajectory of governance for the ensuing term.
