New Delhi: The report of a fact-finding committee of experts has come to light on the anti-Hindu riots that took place in Jahangirpuri, the national capital, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The committee includes Supreme Court lawyer Monica Arora, entrepreneur Monica Agarwal, assistant professor at Delhi University's Indian Institute of Home Economics (IIHE) Divyansha Sharma, PGDAV professor Shruti Mishra and assistant professor of political science at DU's Miranda House College. Sonali Chitalkar was present. In this report, it has been told how the local Muslims attacked in a planned manner on the procession being taken out by the Hindus. The yatra, which had been going on peacefully for the last 20 years, was not only pelted with stones, but Hindus were attacked with swords and guns.

The yatra was organized by the Delhi province of 'Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP)'. The local police-administration was informed in advance about the route and time-date of the yatra. It has been told in this report that the police were also present with this procession of Hindus. Devotional songs were being played during the yatra and a tableau was also going on along with it. Jama Masjid is located in the area from where the attack took place and there are Muslim houses around it. The report said that shortly after the yatra left, a Muslim crowd shouting 'Allahu Akbar', carrying a variety of weapons, came from the street of Kushal Cinema. This attack took the form of a riot. In the FIR, it has been said that 6-7 policemen were seriously injured. According to the report, people told that they had to save their lives by running, hiding. Their vehicles were set on fire. Many vehicles were stolen. It has also been found in the report that stone-bottles were already collected for the attack on the terraces and the entire plot of attack on Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra was also hatched in advance.

In no time a large Muslim crowd came to the fore with stones and petrol bombs. The report clearly states that local Muslims and Bangladeshi Rohingyas were also involved in the attack on the Hindu Shobha Yatra. The Fake-Finding Committee in its investigation found that there is no evidence of attack on the local mosque, but a section of the media is spreading fake news without facts. No flag was raised above any mosque during the Shobha Yatra. Many people in the attacking crowd were also outsiders. The involvement of children among the attackers has been termed as an example of growing radicalization in the area. It was also found that illegal encroachments led to attacks from houses built on green land, which are built around the mosque. According to the report, there are many illegal shops in the area, due to illegal trade, it has become an area with more crime. The police have been accused of turning a blind eye even after complaints from the local people. It has been told that people do not want to go to this area.
