New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday (July 28, 2022) has taken cognizance of the charge sheet filed on the Jahangirpuri violence. All the 37 accused were ordered to appear before it on August 6. The Rohini court has also held that there is enough evidence in the charge sheet to prove that the violence was carried out as a conspiracy. The court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Deepika Singh also issued a notice to the accused, believing that the violence was a part of the 2020 anti-CAA riots in Delhi.

Let us know that in Jahangirpuri, in April this year, people of the Muslim community attacked with stones and glass bottles on the Shobha yatra taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet in the court on July 15, 2022, describing the April 16, 2022 violence as well-planned. The police have named Mohammad Ansar, Tabrez and Sheikh Isherfil as the main accused in their chargesheet. The three are accused of plotting and executing the riots. According to the chargesheet, it was plotted six days before the attack. Glass bottles and stones were deposited on the roofs. Sheikh Isherfil's own roof was used to throw glass bottles and stones. The police examined the data of 2,300 mobile phones and scanned 58 CCTV footage to gather all this information. However, even after the attack, the Muslim side was accusing the Hindus that the Hindus had committed some indecency in their rally, so suddenly some people attacked. But, the Muslim side does not have the answer, if the violence broke out suddenly, why were the brick-and-stone and glass bottles deposited six days ago?

Let us know that Sheikh Isharfil is also called the parking mafia of the area. The same Sheikh is also accused of being an active participant in the CAA violence. His two sons are also said to be of criminal nature, named Ashnoor and Mohammad Ali. The police have also detained two minors in the case, whose case is going on separately in the Juvenile Justice Board. The charge sheet filed by Delhi Police is 2000 pages long. The police have charged a total of 45 people on their charge sheet. So far, 37 rioters have been arrested, including the three main accused. The charge sheet also states that permission was not taken from the administration for the procession that was attacked, which is being investigated separately. Let us know that some of the arrested accused have also got bail.
