New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has sent a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the bail plea of Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government jail minister Satyendar Jain, imprisoned in a money laundering case. During the hearing on the bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain imprisoned in Tihar Jail, the Delhi High Court issued notice to the investigating agency and summoned its reply within 2 weeks. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma directed the ED to file its written reply on the bail plea of Satyendar Jain within two weeks. The court will next hear the matter on December 20.

It is notable that the lower court had recently rejected the bail plea of Satyendar Jain. After this Satyendar Jain filed a bail petition challenging the decision of the Lower Court in the Delhi High Court. On November 17, Special Judge Vikas Dhul of Rouse Avenue Court rejected the bail plea of Satyendar Jain. ED arrested Satyendar Jain on 30 May in the case of money laundering. Jail Minister Satyendar Jain is lodged in Tihar Jail since June 14 even after the completion of ED's custody. However, his videos from the jail also came to the fore, in which he was seen getting a massage from the rapist, enjoying outside food, and having a meeting with the jail superintendent.

Let us tell you that there are allegations against Satyendar Jain that he had launched or bought many fake companies in Delhi. He also laundered Rs 16.39 crore of black money through 54 shell companies of three Kolkata-based hawala operators. The minister had a sizeable number of shares in companies named Prayas, Indo, and Akinchan. According to media reports, after becoming a minister in the Kejriwal government in 2015, Jain transferred all the shares to his wife. On the other hand, on being asked questions related to corruption by ED, AAP leader Jain has also said that he has lost his memory and does not remember anything. This is also one of the reasons why he has been imprisoned for the last 6 months and is not getting bail. However, being the Jail Minister, Satyendar Jain is getting all the facilities by disobeying the rules, which is being seen in the video, and the court has also reprimanded him on this matter.
