Devotees come to Shravanabelagola in the hope of Lord Bahubali's grace. Here is a huge statue of Lord Bahubali. Whose construction is considered in the year 981? It is the largest pilgrimage of people who believe in Jainism. It is believed that the Mahamastakabhishek has been conducted every 12 years from the time of the 10th century. When it was formed the Karnataka was ruled by Gang Dynasty, Gang warrior Chamundrai had constructed this huge statue by cutting the Vindhyagiri mountain.

In Mahamastakabhishek , the erstwhile kings and Maharajas of almost all ages took part in the movement and gave their support. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Jain Mahakumbh. Earlier, former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Narasimha Rao had also visited Shravanabelagola. Shravanabelagola is 80 km from Mysore and it is approximately 150 km from Bangalore.

Lord Bahubali is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Shravanabelagola attracts a lot of devotees of Hindu shrine too. At the same time, the huge historical and spiritual statue of Bahubali, Chandragupta Maurya and Bhadrabahu's samadhi and caves are such a place that people of other religions also like them. This is the largest pilgrimage for people who believe in Jainism.
