Varanasi: The Yogi Adityanath government has installed a Polymer Dosing System in the "Jal Kal Complex," which is supplying pure "Ganga Jal" to about 2 lakh households, in order to ensure the overall development of Varanasi and the provision of appropriate basic amenities to the populace, government sources said on Friday.
The sources added that Varanasi is the only city in the nation where pure Ganges water is being provided to households on such a wide scale using natural polymers thanks to the Polymer Dosing Plant, which was put up at a cost of roughly Rs 50 lakh.
Speaking about the programme, Siddharth Kumar, Secretary of the Jal Kal Department, said that "The pure water of the Ganges has started reaching roughly 1.5 to 2 lakh dwellings in Varanasi." He added that "Ganga Jal" is delivered after being purified at the Bhelupur Jalkal complex.
"The department is preparing to extend the scheme to Trans Varuna as well. Due to its supply, the people residing in the Varuna area (the area across the Varuna river) are now receiving pure Ganges water as drinking water, he said.
The information states that natural polymers are used to purify water, resulting in ppm levels that are nearly zero. As a result, contaminants like germs, sand, chemical compounds, and water-soluble pollutants are virtually completely removed. The most important aspect of polymer dosage is that it preserves the essential qualities and healthful minerals of water, which is good for your health.
"Using current technology, Ganga water is being directly treated with polymer dosing method on such a huge scale for the first time in India, resulting in the purity of water remaining in its original form." The Jal Kal Department Secretary said. He added that between 120 and 125 MLD of water are treated each day. Soon, it will rise to 250 MLD.
The secretary said, "Water treated using polymer dosing is healthier than RO and mineral water supplied in the market, whose TDS level is around 200."
