Lucknow: Hindu organizations in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun district have claimed the presence of Neelkanth Mahadev inside the local Jama Masjid. A petition has also been filed in the civil court of the district with this claim, which has also been accepted by the court. In this petition has been filed by Mukesh Patel, state convener of Hindu Mahasabha on behalf of Neelkanth Mahadev. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on 15 September 2022. The order on this petition filed on 2 August 2022 has been issued on Friday (2 September 2022).

According to media reports, a total of 5 parties have appeared in the court on behalf of Neelkanth Mahadev. Lord Neelkanth Mahadev himself has been made the main party in this case. Apart from him, Mukesh Patel, Advocate Arvind Parmar, Gyan Prakash, Dr Anurag Sharma and Umesh Chandra Sharma have been made parties in the other parties. The parties appearing in the court have claimed the fort of the first Hindu king Mahipal in the history of Jama Masjid and the Neelkanth temple of Lord Shiva in the same place.

Petitioner Mukesh Patel claims that he is aware of the entire history of this place. He has demanded the court to conduct a survey of Jama Masjid. Patel claims that the temple of Lord Shiva was demolished and the Jama Masjid was constructed at that place. Ved Prakash Gupta, counsel for the petitioners, submitted that they have presented all the evidence in the court which confirms the existence of an ancient Hindu temple at the site. According to Mukesh Patel, 'In 1192, during the invasion of Mohammad Ghori on India, his general Qutubuddin Aibak came to Budaun and killed King Mahipal. Later Iltutmish, son-in-law of Qutubuddin Aibak, demolished the temple here and got Jama Masjid built there. At the same time, in this case, the Muslim side says that this Jama Masjid was built by Shashuddin Iltutmish in 1222.

Let us tell you that Jama Masjid of Badaun is located in the Maulvi Tola area, which has enough space to offer Namaz for about 23000 people simultaneously. Now notice will be issued to the opposition to present their side from the court of Senior Division Judge Vijay Kumar Gupta, who is hearing the case. It is being told that Jama Masjid's Arranging Committee is there as the opposition in this matter. Apart from them, UP Sunni Waqf Board, UP Archaeological Survey Department, UP Government and the Government of India also have to present their side in this matter.
