Shahdol: A half-burnt body was found in a forest in the Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh on September 26, 2022. The deceased was identified as Maulana Ataullah Qasmi. Meanwhile, a propaganda website called Jamia Times linked this murder to Bajrang Dal. Enraged by the ban on PFI, Asaduddin Owaisi also dragged the Modi government into the matter. Maulana's murder has come to light due to an obscene act with a woman. The police have also denied that the murder perpetrator had links with the Bajrang Dal. According to the news received, Maulana used to do exorcisms. According to the police, a man named Shiv Shankar had taken a woman from his family for an exorcism near Qasmi after her health deteriorated. However, Maulana did obscene acts with the woman under the guise of exorcism. To avenge this, Siva Shankar killed him. Maulana was a resident of Jharkhand.

Jamia Times tweeted about the incident and wrote, "Maulana Ataullah Qasmi, a resident of Jharkhand, was burnt by a Bajrang Dal worker and thrown into the forest.'' When the police denied Bajrang Dal's link to the incident, Jamia Times wrote, "DSP Shahdol Raghvendra Dwivedi has not confirmed that the culprit is associated with Bajrang Dal. He said that he used to come to the criminal's house earlier also in connection with the exorcism. After the same Jamia Times, Muslim leaders also started spewing venom against Hindu organizations. Angry over the ban on radical Islamist outfit PFI, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded a ban on Bajrang Dal on the basis of fake news. He asked, "Will the Modi government ban this group?"

Assam Congress MLA Abdul Khaliq wrote, "Does our PRIME Minister Modi Ji have the courage to ban this organisation that spreads terror?" Maulana Ataullah Qasmi Sahab, a resident of Jharkhand (India), was burnt by Bajrang Dal/RSS and thrown into the forest. According to a report received, the deceased, Ataullah Qasmi, was a resident of the Palamu district of Jharkhand. He used to work as an exorcist in the Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. Qasmi had been missing since September 21 and was last seen on a motorcycle belonging to his acquaintance towards Padmania village in Shahdol district. The next day (September 22, 2022), a missing report of Ataullah was lodged at police station Gohparu. Police arrested one Shiv Shankar Yadav in connection with the case after recovering the half-burnt body of Ataullah Khan in the forest of village Padmania under Singhpur police station of Shahdol district on September 26, 2022. On Wednesday (September 29, 2022), the police said that Shiv Shankar Yadav (28 years) has confessed to his crime during interrogation. Due to avenge, Shiv Shankar killed him and burnt him with the petrol of the motorcycle. Subsequently, his motorcycle was thrown into the Navalpur Sone river. Shiv Shankar Yadav is a driver by profession. There is no report to suggest that he was associated with Bajrang Dal. Jamia Times also admitted that it had no evidence to substantiate Yadav's claim of his association with the Bajrang Dal. Despite this, he pursued propaganda against the Hindu organization.
