New Delhi: Protests are taking place in many areas of the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Demonstrations in Assam and West Bengal have taken shape. The protesters have also clashed with the police. The number of those who died during the protest in Assam has increased to 5.  Internet restrictions are still going on in many areas of Assam and West Bengal.

The protesting students of Jamia have burnt 4 buses on Delhi's Mathura Road. Also, 6 buses have been vandalized. Apart from this, the bus was also burnt at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Two protesters died in Guwahati on Sunday. Both were injured in police firing on Thursday during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Both the dead have been identified as Ishwar Nayak and Abdul Aleem.

The total number of those who died during the protest in Assam has increased to 5. During the demonstration on Thursday, 2 people were killed in police firing. While a person caught in the fire due to the fire in the oil tanker died on Saturday.
