Baramulla: security force in Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday gunned down three terrorists. After this encounter, DGP Dilbagh Singh on Thursday told the news agency ANI that the Barmulla district has become the first with no surviving militants as of date.  

On Wednesday, in Binner area of Barmulla, a search and cordon operation was launched by the security forces on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists there. The forces were fired upon by the terrorists after which a gun battle ensued.

As per reportsThree terrorists were killed in the ambush. The slain terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Weapons and other incriminating material was recovered from them. 

Local news reports claim that the funeral of the terrorists was attended by thousands of people. The security personnel put heavy restrictions which were sidelined by the mourners who gathered in 

Reports say top Lashkar commander Shoaib Akhoon of Khanpora was gunned down along with two of his associates in the encounter yesterday.
