India is witnessing a surge in corona cases. In Jammu and Kashmir increasing cases of corona infection has made the situation a bit serious. The government has decided to shut the government and private schools in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The teachers and parents have been pressuring the administration to close schools amid the corona second wave uproar.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration announces the shutting of schools in the Union Territory following a surge in COVID-19 infections on Sunday. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha made the announcement in wake of the spike in cases in the state. Sinha also said that “all gathering for social and customary functions will be restricted to 200 only”.

Though, the administration has confirmed that the examinations for Classes X and XII will be held as per schedule. Talking about the corona update, J&K on Sunday recorded 573 active cases, including 105 travelers, taking the tally to 1,33,012, while three more deaths due to the virus raised the toll to 2,008.
