J&K Separatist Leader Altaf Ahmad passes away

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Separatist leader Altaf Ahmad Shah has passed away. He was 66 years old. Altaf Ahmad Shah had been ill for some time. Altaf Ahmad Shah, who is lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail, was recently admitted to AIIMS Hospital for treatment on the orders of the Delhi High Court. Altaf Ahmad Shah succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS hospital during treatment.  

Altaf Ahmad Shah was the son-in-law of Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Altaf Ahmad Shah was lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. Altaf Ahmad Shah's health deteriorated in Tihar. After Altaf Ahmad Shah's health deteriorated, the family approached the Delhi High Court for treatment. The Delhi High Court had ordered Tihar jail authorities to take Altaf Ahmad Shah to a hospital for treatment. After this, the Tihar Jail administration admitted Altaf Ahmed Shah to AIIMS Hospital in Delhi for treatment.

Altaf Ahmad Shah passed away while undergoing treatment at AIIMS hospital in Delhi. Altaf Ahmad Shah is said to have breathed his last at AIIMS Hospital late on October 10-11. Altaf Ahmad Shah was a resident of the Soura area of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
