Srinagar: An encounter took place between security forces and militants in Pulwama in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Three terrorists were gunned down by security forces in the encounter. Among the slain terrorists was Ayaz, a terrorist from Pakistan-backed terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The joint operation was carried out by the army and CRPF.

According to reports, security forces had a tip-off that the militants were hiding near the district hospital in Pulwama city. Security forces then cordoned off the entire area. It was then that the militants opened fire. There was retaliation from the security forces and three terrorists were killed. Curfew has been imposed in the entire Pulwama city at present. Earlier, 3 terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Kawarigam area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The militants had attacked police and CRPF personnel after which security forces retaliated and killed the militants on Saturday. The trio had recently joined a terror outfit.

In fact, security forces had received information that terrorists had been spotted in a village. When Jammu and Kashmir police and central reserve police force (CRPF) personnel knocked in the village, the militants targeted them and opened fire. Security forces tracked down the militants and killed them after continuous firing.
