Srinagar: Terrorists have killed another leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir. Militants shot a local BJP sarpanch Sajad Ahmad Khande in Kashmir's Kulgam district on the morning of 6 August. This is the murder of another BJP leader in the Valley in the last month. Earlier on 8 July, the BJP leader was killed in Bandipora.

According to local officials, BJP sarpanch Khande was shot dead near his house in Qazigund in Kulgam district, about 60 km from Srinagar. Khande was taken to a local hospital immediately after the incident, but doctors declared him dead as soon as he reached the hospital. He was also the District Vice President of Kulgam BJP. About 48 hours before Khande's murder, another BJP sarpanch Arif Ahmad was also shot by terrorists in the same area, in which Arif was seriously injured.

A month later, on late night of July 8, young BJP leader Sheikh Wasim Bari was killed in Bandipora. Along with Bari, his father and brother were also killed by the terrorists.
