Srinagar: An encounter between security forces and terrorists has been going on for the past several hours at Naugam in Srinagar in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir Zone police said, a terrorist has been killed in the encounter, which is yet to be identified. Meanwhile, one to two terrorists are estimated to be hiding in the area. Security forces personnel are currently conducting search operations in the area.
Security forces reportedly received inputs about two to three terrorists hiding in the area. Security forces then launched a search of the area, during which the militants opened fire on the security forces. In retaliation, security forces killed one terrorist. A search operation is currently underway in the area. It has not been revealed which terrorist is associated with the slain terrorist organization. Security forces have also recovered weapons from the terrorist.
On June 12, terrorists attacked a police party in Sopore. Two policemen were killed in the attack. At the same time, two civilians were also killed. Sopore police said several policemen were injured in the attack and are undergoing treatment.
