Srinagar: The Congress, which is facing political tension snags in several states, has now suffered a severe setback in Jammu and Kashmir. In the Union Territory, 4 former Congress ministers and three sitting MLAs have sent a mass resignation to the party's interim president Sonia Gandhi. The leaders have resigned alleging that the party's position in the state is very bad and time is not being given by the high command to talk about it.

Sources said, the MLAs and former ministers who have resigned from the party are special to G-23 leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. Ghulam Nabi Azad has been raising his voice several times for the election of the National President and other reforms in Congress. According to sources, the resignation letter of these leaders has been sent to Rahul Gandhi and Jammu and Kashmir in charge Rajni Patil besides Sonia Gandhi. The leaders have accused the party high command of being biased.

The leaders who resigned have also attacked Jammu and Kashmir Congress unit president GA Mir. Hitting out directly at Ghulam Ahmed Mir, the leaders said that it is because of him that the party is in a bad shape in Jammu and Kashmir today. Rebel leaders say 200 Congress leaders have so far fled the party in Jammu and Kashmir due to Mir's weak leadership.
