Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said. In this encounter, the security forces have killed a terrorist. According to the report, this incident of encounter took place in Dassal Gujran of Dassal Forest area of Rajouri district. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area. Security forces are conducting a search operation in Dassal Gujran area.

According to media reports, on the intervening night of June 1-2, security forces received input about the hiding of terrorists in Dassal Gujran area. On the basis of this intelligence, a team of security forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police reached the area and started a search operation. At the same time, as soon as the firing started from the terrorists, the security forces also took the lead and started firing back. The firing from both sides continued from night to morning. One terrorist has been killed in this encounter. Some other terrorists are also suspected to be hiding in the area, for which a search operation is being conducted in the entire area.
