Srinagar: The Indian Army has thwarted a major infiltration bid by Pakistani militants and drove them out. In Kupwara district of In Jammu and Kashmir, about 5 to 6 militants had entered machil sector in Machil sector at around 02.30 p.m. last night within 500 metres of the Indian border. However, the vigilant Indian security forces opened fire on the infiltrators after which the militants fled back to the Pakistani border. An Indian soldier was also injured when militants opened fire to escape.

The bodies have not been removed due to ongoing firing from both sides. India had asked Pakistan to take the bodies.
