Srinagar: Two terrorists have been killed so far in the ongoing encounter between security forces and militants at Budgam in South Kashmir's Shopian. A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CRPF had cordoned off on specific inputs about militants hiding in the area. When the security forces intensified searches in the suspected area, an encounter broke out between the militants and the security forces. 

In Srinagar, security forces had a major breakthrough late on Tuesday night. Two militants of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba were gunned down by security forces in an encounter in the Rainawari area of Srinagar late last night. The police had recovered weapons, ammunition and other objectionable items from the slain terrorists. Kashmir's IGP Vijay Kumar said that both Lashkar-e-Taiba, who were killed in the Srinagar encounter, said. The TRF had local terrorists. Police said that both the slain militants were residents of the valley and were involved in the killing of several civilians in the valley. 

According to the data, 49 terrorists have been delayed in Jammu and Kashmir from January 1 to April 12. In addition, 71 terrorists have been arrested. Three terrorists surrendered. In April alone, 12 terrorists were killed during the operation and 10 have been arrested.
