Srinagar: Two soldiers were killed in an IED blast in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Nine soldiers were injured in Monday's attack, two of whom were in critical condition. The two jawans succumbed to their injuries in hospital on Tuesday morning. Earlier on Tuesday, two terrorists were killed by security forces in Anantnag district. One jawan was martyred in the encounter while one is said to be injured.
Remarkably, the militants attacked the army in Pulwama on Monday. The vehicle of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was blown away by the IED when the team was patrolling the Arihal area. The car was bulletproof. Even after that, nine army personnel were injured. Two of the soldiers were martyred during treatment on Tuesday morning. Surprisingly, the terrorists attacked back in Pulwama with a warning.
The area is only 27 km from the place where the militants attacked the CRPF convoy on February 14. 40 soldiers were killed in that attack. Terrorist incidents have increased rapidly over the past few days. A few days ago, terrorists attacked an army patrol vehicle in Anantnag. Five CRPF personnel were killed in the attack. Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police Arshad Khan was badly injured, who was later martyred.
