Srinagar: A terror attack has once again taken place in the Kashmir division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Two separate terror attacks, which took place in an hour's time on Wednesday (December 22), have claimed the lives of a Daroga and a civilian. Both the attacks have been claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF) linked to the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Meanwhile, security forces are cordoning off the area and trying to trace the militants.

According to reports, around 6 pm militants shot dead a civilian Rauf Ahmed in the Nawakdal area of the Idgah area of Srinagar in the evening. The terrorists fled the spot after the attack. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and admitted the injured to SMHS hospital but he could not be rescued. Half an hour after the incident, the militants launched another attack at the Bijbehara police station in the Anantnag district. The ASI on duty here was targeted by the terrorists.

ASI Mohammad Ashraf, a resident of Avantipora, was shot four times by terrorists, police rushed to the spot after the attack and were taking him to a hospital for treatment when Ashraf died on the way. Rauf Ahmed Khan was reportedly a terrorist himself earlier, but later surrendered and joined the mainstream. He used to do property dealer business at Idgah in Srinagar. It is said that terrorists like Ahmed who left his house opened fire on him.
