Srinagar: Most parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are experiencing heavy snowfall these days, due to which the road and air connectivity of the valley has been cut off from other parts of the country. Officials said that most places received heavy snowfall on Sunday. Due to continuous snowfall in Srinagar, a thick sheet of snow has been laid on the roads. The basic normal life has become busy.

People going from one place to another are facing heavy problems, however, the work of removing snow from the roads is going on at the moment. The sanitary supervisor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation has told that 'Since yesterday, Srinagar has been snowing. We also did the work of snow removal yesterday and today we are engaged in the work of snow removal since 7 am. Due to snowfall, flights to and from Srinagar airport are closed.

A Srinagar airport official said that the operations of the aircraft have been stopped here due to snowfall on the runway. A decision will be taken to start operations only after removing snow from the runway. Let us tell you that the temperature of Sunday night in Srinagar was recorded at minus 1.5 degree Celsius. Today, in Srinagar, the day's minimum temperature was minus 0.9.
