Srinagar: Work is going on by the Modi government of the Center to neutralize Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and abolish the status of special state and establish it as 2 union territories. Now the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council has been abolished under section 57 of the Jammu Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019. On the basis of the notification issued by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, the Upper House Legislative Council of the state has been abolished.

After this order based on the notification issued by the state government, now the entire staff of the Legislative Council will report to the General Administration Department from October 22. Apart from this, vehicles purchased from time to time for the Legislative Council have been transferred to the Director of State Motor Garage. With this, the Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council has been asked to hand over all kinds of furniture and electronic gadgets kept in the Legislative Council building to the Director of Property.

The Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council will transfer all the records related to the Council to the Secretariat Council. After the passing of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill from the Parliament on 5 August, the dates have been announced for the implementation of the new system by the Government of India on 9 August.
