Srinagar: The temperature has declined in Kashmir due to the cold and cold waves. The night temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 0.6 degrees on Sunday, while Pahalgam recorded minus 10.2 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 10.4 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department official has predicted more snowfall in his forecast on January 28 and January 29.

Sonam Lotus, director of the Meteorological Department, Kashmir, said, "On January 28 and 29, there will be fresh snowfall due to western disturbances." He said that by the end of this month, there will be some relief from the cold and cold wave. The new phase of winter in Kashmir, known as 'Chillai Kalan', will end on January 31. The 40-day 'Chillai Kalan' is the harshest part of winter in Kashmir, in which the temperature decreases to the freezing point. Due to the cold weather, the problems of people in the valley have increased.

Abdul Rahim, a resident of Srinagar, said, "We have seen extreme cold and snowfall in the last two winters. This has caused a lot of problems for the people." There have been several spells of snow this year, disrupting the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which is the main road between Kashmir and the rest of the country.
