SRINAGAR: The weather in Jammu & Kashmir has been mostly clear in the previous 24 hours, with the Meteorological (MeT) department predicting showers starting Thursday afternoon to break the present scorching in the union territory.

"The weather is expected to be mostly clear for the next 24 hours, with a chance of light showers in the evening." "From June 16 afternoon to June 18, a good deal of rain is expected in Jammu & Kashmir ." "This will put an end to the present heat wave in the union territory," a MeT department official said.

The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 16.1, Pahalgam was 8.6, and Gulmarg was 10. 

The minimum temperature in Ladakh was 4.6 degrees in Drass, 7.5 degrees in Leh, and 12.3 degrees in Kargil. The minimum temperature was 29.7 degrees in Jammu, 27.2 degrees in Katra, 19.7 degrees in Batote, 15.6 degrees in Banihal, and 17.3 degrees in Bhaderwah.
