Jammu:NIT Srinagar, the students staged a protest march in the city and demanded shifting of the institute. Around, 300 students carrying placards and banners marched the Press Club of Jammu ,during chanting of “ Bharat Mata ki Jai ”.The students reached the Jammu last night and housed at Khalsa College ground.

The protest is to demanded shifting of college from Srinagar and withdrawal of all cases against non Kashmiri students of NIT .

"We were kept hostage in NIT by the authorities and police and not allowed to move out...somehow managed to escape from the NIT and reached here," a protesting student said.

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) also held protest demonstration in support of the NIT student.
