Srinagar: Jammu Police has filed a challan in the court against Abid Ghani, son of abdul ghani lawyer, who was a former minister, and a friend accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl. Abdul Ghani's son was booked on April 26, 2015 at Domana police station in Jammu. Abdul Ghani's son has also been booked for rape in Bengaluru. Police said, Abid has molested 200 girls in Bengaluru. He himself confessed this to the Bengaluru police.

In a court challan, police said that on the day of the incident, a class VII student living in Karloop area of Domana had gone to Palauda area of the city to attend a sports event with her school teacher and some students. When the victim returned home on board the minibus after the programme was over, the accused Abid Ghani arrived with a car with a friend. Abid told the victim that he was a friend of her father and that he would drop her home by car. The victim got into the conversation of the accused and got into the car with her. After which Abid took her to his government quarters in Talab Tilo where she was raped. Abid had later left the victim near the house in his own car. Since the accused in the case was the son of the former minister, no police officer had touched him for six years.

Last month, a Jammu police team arrested the accused Abid Ghani at his home in Sopare, Kashmir. Abid Ghani lives at his house with his father Abdul Ghani Vakil. Abdul Ghani's lawyer has been a minister in Jammu and Kashmir from the Congress party quota. He has left the Congress and joined the People's Conference, a political party in Kashmir, these days.
