Indian Army gave strong reply to martyrdom of Jawans, killed six Lashkar militants

Jammu: The Indian Army has killed six Terrorists belonging to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) in an ongoing encounter in dense forests of the Rajouri sector with 16 corps personnel trying to neutralize the remaining three to four Islamic jihadists. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat visited the area on October 16 and interacted with local commanders who handled the ongoing counter-terrorism operations after losing nine Indian Army personnel in an encounter with terror in the forests of Rajouri.

According to the same South Block, in the last two to three months, nine to 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba militants have infiltrated from Pakistan towards the forests between the border of Rajouri-Poonch district. While several infiltration attempts at LOC and with fencing were foiled, Pak militants were encouraged by their success in Afghanistan and to that extent terrorist escalation was speculated by the Indian Army and security agencies.

For your information, in the last 2 to 3 months, more than 10 Lashkar terrorists have infiltrated from Pakistan into Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. While their every attempt failed, Pak militants were excited by their success in Afghanistan.
