The professor of this University has taken a unique way to increase greenery. He told the students that they would have to plant a plant as a punishment for the mistake they commit on campus. With this unique punishment that began eight years ago, 550 green trees can be seen at Veer Narmada South Gujarat University today.

Some of them are now 20 feet long. Professor Mehul Patel is an architecture professor here and the panoramic expansion of Haritima in the vicinity of his department can be easily seen. A pond has also been built here. Professor Patel points out that in these delightful environments, a variety of birds can now be seen. Also, beautiful views of butterflies and bees that suck the nectar of flowers can be seen. The 36-year-old Patel teaches basic design lessons to about 700 students here.

Patel said he wanted something to be done for the environment. He then came up with the idea of planting plants as punishment for minor mistakes to the students. Students who came late to class or submitted their assignments late, or when their phone rang in class, began planting for such mistakes. Patel points out that such punishments for his students make the students feel happy. Similarly, in a village in Bihar, a plant is planted when a girl is born.
