Recently Jason Derulo sampled a piece of music from New Zealand musician Joshua Nanai (aka Josh 685), whose "Lacked (Siren Beat)" has become the best viral track. This tune which has come on TikTok has got 43 million total views so far. Indeed, Melody's popularity comes partly from some well-known co-signs, such as influencers Edison Rai and Tony Lopez, and Hollywood stars such as Jessica Alba, but the song has received millions of views without official clearance and credit.

Nanai, a 17-year-old high school student from Auckland, saluted the Cook Island heritage with the song "685" midway (calling code for Samoa), which posted a "culture dance" video to users Told to come forward. He celebrates his legacy by dancing to the song and depicting his roots. This instrument is called "Siren Jam" and the unique sound of Nanai is of the New Zealand / Pacific trend, which usually makes beats to play through the siren speakers as they are attached to cars or bikes.

The sound of the island usually originates from Debo and Reg music, and Nanai shared several other "siren jam" tracks before making his TicTock smash. There have been reports that for Nanai's part, he is excited. Before leaving the suburb of South Auckland, he said in a statement, "I am grateful for all the support so far." At the same time, Jason Derulo has also been accused of stealing the tune of Nanai's song and many users have called him wrong. Another fan wrote for Nanai on the YouTube page, "I am sorry that Nanai did not get the recognition he deserved."
