'Dune,' directed by Academy Award nominee Denis Villeneuve, is based on Frank Herbert's 1965 novel, which is regarded one of the most important books of the twentieth century and has inspired many of the best films of all time.

"I found the book when I was a teenager, and I remember being really enthralled by its poetry and what it had to say about nature, which is the actual protagonist of Dune," Villeneuve remarked. "To me, 'Dune' is a psychological thriller, an adventure, a war movie, a coming-of-age movie," the filmmaker continued. It's even a love story. There's a reason the book stayed on my shelf, beside my bed, all those years."

At the Venice Film Festival premiere, 'Dune' got an eight-minute standing ovation. Villeneuve was praised for his stunning rendition of the 1965 science fiction classic.'Dune' recounts the narrative of Paul Atreides, a smart and gifted young man born into a tremendous destiny beyond his comprehension who must journey to the universe's most deadly planet to save his family and people. Hans Zimmer, an Oscar-winning and multiple Oscar-nominated composer, is composing the score.
