Legend of Jaya Parvati fasting legend - In the past, there lived a Brahmin named Vamana in Kaudinya Nagar, whose wife's name was Satya. Both were very happy. However, both had no children. One day when Maharishi Narada reached his ashram, he saw the Brahmin couple worried and wanted to know the reason for their concern. Then he asked to tell me the measures to get children. After that, Narada ji advises him to worship Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

As promised by Maharishi Narada, he worshiped Shiva and Mata Parvati, but one day the Brahmin Vamana was bitten by a snake in front of the temple, causing Vamana to die. After this, Satya started crying and remembered Mother Parvati. Pleased with Satya's devotion, Mother Parvati revived the Brahmin Vamana. After this, Mata Parvati asked the couple to ask for a bride. Then the Brahmin couple wished to have a son. At that time Mata Parvati advised him to observe Jaya Parvati fast. Later, the Brahmin couple worshiped Goddess Parvati lawfully, which resulted in her being crowned with a son.
