Chennai: Political turmoil has started growing ahead of this year's assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The state government has meanwhile decided to construct the residence of former CM J Jayalalithaa as a memorial, which will be inaugurated on January 28. The state's AIADMK government had recently launched Jayalalithaa's Memorial at Marina Beach in Chennai.
Jayalalithaa's status has been huge in Tamil Nadu politics, which is why she is now trying to woo her supporters once again before the election. The Tamil Nadu government and Jayalalithaa's nephew and niece also had a legal battle over The Veda Nilayam, located in The Poes Garden in Chennai, which is Jayalalithaa's residence. After three years of war, the state government got the house.
The decision taken by the state government is also being attributed to the challenge being faced by Sasikala. Jayalalithaa's stay in Sasikala's tamil nadu politics was very much a force. However, she is now sick and eating the air of prison. It is also noteworthy that a house of Sasikala is being prepared next to Jayalalithaa's residence which is being built as a memorial. As such, the battle between the two factions of the AIADMK may continue.
