Counting of votes for Jayanagar, in south Bengaluru has started early in the morning. The polls held on Monday and Sowmya Reddy of Congress won.

Worth mention here Polls were countermanded in Jayanagar after the death of BJP candidate B N Vijayakumar just days before the May 12 election.

Congress candidate Sowmya Reddy is daughter of former minister Ramalinga Reddy mark the win in Jayanagar Assembly constituency with 5000 votes as News18 India reported.

 In the 13th Final Round Congress was leading with 8614  while BJP  trailing with  39970  and Nota had 677.

 Earlier Congress workers celebrated outside counting centre in Bengaluru after party candidate Sowmya Reddy leads over BJP's BN Prahlad in Jayanagar assembly constituency as ANI informed.

The Janata Dal (Secular) (JD-S), on June 5, decided to aid the Congress party after retreating its candidate Kalegowda from its constituency.

The counting for 222 seats had already concluded out of the 224 assembly seats in the Karnataka on May 15.

The BJP appeared as the single largest party in the state assembly of Karnataka with 104 seats, while the Congress and JD(S) acquired 78 seats and 37 seats respectively.

After the over-rated, high-political drama in the state, the Congress and the JD(S) joined hands and have managed to form their government in Karnataka.
