"JD(S)- Congress is an unholy alliance": AMit Shah

New Delhi, May 21: After receiving notably defeat in Karnataka assembly polls 2018, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Monday appeared in press conference. In his address he said that Karnataka result is an anti-Congress mandate.

Speaking in the press conference first time after Karnataka polls result out, Shah also said that the polls, BJP emerged as the single largest party and our vote share saw a major boost in Karnataka assembly elections.

He asserted “The mandate was clearly anti-Congress” adding more than half of their ministers lost. Chief Minister also lost from one seat.

It is noted that The Karnataka Assembly Results 2018 came out on May 15. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 104 seats while Congress 78 and JD(s ) won 38 .BJP were eight short of touching the majority mark of 111 seats.

When questioned on JD(S) and Congress alliance  he said, “Congress & JD(S) formed an alliance against the people’s mandate. This is what I call an unholy alliance”.

He further said, “BJP is single largest party in Karnataka, our vote share saw a major increase. The mandate was clearly anti-Congress. What is the Congress celebrating? More than half of their ministers lost,CM lost from one seat.Similarly, why is JDS celebrating? For getting 37 seats?

 He noted “Now they (Congress) like EVM and Election Commission. It's a good sign that opposition now likes both of them even after what they have in hand is an incomplete victory. All I can say is hopefully they like EVM and Election Commission even when they lose & abide by SC's order”.
