In Bihar, a JD(U) leader died in Nalanda district. Hundreds of villagers cordoned off Nagarausa police station on Friday following the death of the JD(U) leader. A police official said on Friday that Saidpur village resident and JDU leader Ganesh Ravidas was brought to the police station for questioning in connection with the abduction of a girl on Thursday. The janha leader Ganesh Ravidas allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the police station late Thursday night.

Police forces and villagers clashed during the incident which also led to stone pelting. After this, the police hurled lathis at the people who were shouting slogans. He ran and beat. Nalanda Superintendent of Police Nilesh Kumar said that the police is investigating the whole case. The police had on Wednesday detained 48-year-old Ganesh Ravidas, son of Saidpur village resident Devandan Ravidas, for questioning in the girl abduction case. He committed suicide by going to a toilet near Hajat on the pretext of night defecation, after which people were agitated when the news of it reached the village on Friday morning.
