Katihar: The wife of a JDU worker has been killed in Katihar, Bihar over a dispute. The name of the JDU worker is Abdul Sattar. He is said to be a hardworking worker of the JDU. Abdul Sattar's wife Nagma has been strangled to death after beating her. The age of the deceased Nagma has been given as 34 years.
The incident took place at Badi Chatar Canal Tola village Magheli Panchayat under the Falka police station in Katihar. After the incident, angry people held the police hostage for hours. The SHO, who reached the spot on Tahrir, had to face the ire of the people. According to locals, the culprit left the house and fled after the crowd of villagers increased.
Adamant on the demand to call the SP and the collector on the spot, the family members told the Falka police station that on Tuesday, the husband of the deceased, Abdul Sattar, had gone to attend a wedding. When he returned home, he found his wife Nagma Bharti dead. JDU worker Abdul Sattar said that she was strangulated to death with her wife's scarf. Marks of assault have been found on the body of his wife Nagma. Abdul Sattar's children said that his elder uncle Wazir Uncle had committed the crime. According to Abdul Sattar, there was a dispute over the continuous flow of water from the water tank. At the time of cleaning the water filter some water had gone into the elder brother's courtyard. There was a fight about him a month ago. But the police did not take any action due to which his elder brother killed Nagma. The dispute continued until Wednesday. The villagers who came in support of Abdul Sattar were not allowing the body of the deceased Nagma to be lifted. Thereafter, the matter calmed down after the explanation of Shodar Umesh Paswan and the local public representatives. Police are investigating the case.
