Jeezy and his wife, Jeannie Mai, are expecting their first child together, and we wish them all the best! During the season eight premiere of The Real on Monday morning (Sept. 20), the TV personality flaunted her baby bump while her co-hosts complimented her for sharing what made her reconsider being a mother.
"I was like, 'I know exactly what I want,' and I always said, 'I'd never be a parent,'" she recounted. "And there are so many reasons why I would have said that then that are now coming to reality, but I do know that you never say never, and that love can truly transform you." This is the first child for Jeannie, 42, while Jeezy, 43, has three children -- Jadarius, Shyheim and Amra -- from previous relationships.
"I believe it's such a big thing because Jeezy made me understand that I've never felt truly safe in my life, you know?" "I've never felt completely safe, and it's all because of things that occurred to me when I was younger," she stated. "However, once you know what it's like to feel unsafe, it becomes your universe." We began to truly build a space where our happiness spelt out what safe looked like around us after falling in love with Jeezy and meeting someone who also didn't feel secure in their life. So as soon as you feel safe in a healthy relationship, all of a sudden you start having visions and dreams, and for both of us, at the same time, it would be becoming parents, having kids."
In March 2020, one year after he proposed to her, the pair married in an intimate ceremony in their Atlanta garden. The rapper had planned to propose on a trip to Vietnam in April 2020, but it was postponed due to pandemic travel restrictions, so he improvised. Jeezy and Jeannie allegedly started dating in November 2018 and made their public debut on the red carpet at his nonprofit's Street Dreamz gala the following August.
