Omkar Nath Dhar was the real name of bollywood's Naradmuni. Omkar Nath Dhar passed away on this day. It was on June 10, 1987. At the age of 71, he said goodbye to the world. Omkar Nath Dhar was a great actor and was born on October 24, 1915 to a Kashmiri Pandit family. He was 24 siblings and his mother passed away only after the birth of his life. After that, when he turned three, his father passed away.

His life gained popularity by playing Naradmuni and people started knowing him by the same name. He had always played the villain role. You must have all seen him as a villain in many films. You will be surprised to know that he played the role of Narada not only in Bollywood but also in 60 films in many different languages. Let us tell you that Jeevan has played the villain in films in the 60s, 70s and 80s and famous actor Kiran Kumar is the son of Jeevan.

It is said that when Jeevan reached Mumbai, he had only Rs.26 in his pocket. Jeevan had initially worked in director Mohanlal Sinha's studio. Here Mohanlal gave him a role in his film 'Fashionable India' but Jeevan was recognised from the 1935 film 'Romantic India'. After this film, Jeevan acted in memorable films like Afsana, Station Master, Amar Akbar Anthony, Naagin, Shabnam, Heer-Ranjha, Johnny Mera Naam.

Jeevan knew that he could not become a hero and that made him a villain. Jeevan has two sons- Kiran Kumar and Bhushan Jeevan. Kiran Kumar is a well-known actor in Bollywood and TV. On the other hand, his second son Bhushan Jeevan died of liver failure in 1997.
