Jennifer Lopez is embracing her newfound "me time" following her widely publicized split from Ben Affleck. The actress and singer recently opened up about her personal journey during a conversation, reflecting on the lessons learned from the past year.
In a candid discussion with comedian Nikki Glaser, Lopez touched on various meaningful topics, including her upcoming movie, Unstoppable, and her experiences navigating a challenging year. She spoke about her ongoing pursuit of self-awareness and how life’s unpredictability continues to teach her valuable lessons.
"It’s a lifelong process," said Lopez, 55, when talking about her journey of self-discovery. She explained how she has learned that there’s no final destination in life, only continuous growth. "It's either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part," she added. "There were moments when I thought I had figured it out, and then life sends another challenge to see if I’ve truly learned."
Discussing her dating life, Lopez, who filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, shared that she is content with being on her own for now. "I’m not looking for anybody," she said. "What if I’m just free? What if it’s just me flying on my own?"
Despite the split, Lopez and Affleck have remained on friendly terms. On September 14, the former couple reunited for a casual lunch with four of their five children.
Lopez also shared her excitement over her latest movie, Unstoppable, which she presented at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film received a standing ovation, and Lopez expressed her pride in the project. "I felt really good," she said. "The movie is beautiful, and the audience in Toronto responded to the emotion of it. It’s one of those inspirational stories the world needs right now."
