Jennifer Brady has joined the list of players who have withdrawn from the upcoming Australian Open and two practice tournaments due to injury. Australian Open officials confirmed that Brady, who made it to the final in 2021, will miss the tournament due to a left leg injury.

"Jane wishes you an early recovery from the injury," the authorities tweeted about his injury. Brady, the 25th-ranked American, made it to the final of the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career at Melbourne Park last year, where he lost in straight sets to Japan's Naomi Osaka.

Earlier, world number four Carolina Pliskova, Canada's Bianka Andresku, 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams have also announced their withdrawal from the Australian Open for various reasons. In the men's category, 6-time champion Roger Federer will also miss out on a knee surgery. The Australian Open will begin on January 17.
