Jessica Alba recently opened up about the challenges she faced at the start of her acting career. In a candid interview with MEDIA published on Thursday, June 13, the 43-year-old actress shared insights into the difficulties she encountered while navigating the entertainment industry.

During the interview, Jessica recalled the financial pressures she experienced in her early years, emphasizing how these challenges influenced her career choices. "You’re not always taking the roles that are the best," she explained. "You’re just taking roles to survive, which teaches grit and perseverance."

Reflecting on her journey, Jessica expressed a desire to have had a deeper understanding of writing, directing, and producing earlier in her career. She currently serves as an executive producer on her new Special Forces-themed movie, set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, June 21.

Jessica also discussed the emotional aspect of beginning her career, remembering the relief she felt when booking roles and the financial desperation she faced. "You’re just so happy to be there and it’s like, ‘Did the check clear?’" she joked. "And there’s a desperation like, ‘Please God, I need this job.’"

Now a mother to daughters Honor and Haven and son Hayes, whom she shares with husband Cash Warren, Jessica talked about her children potentially pursuing careers in showbiz. "I think if you tell your kid anything, they’re going to do the opposite, right?" she mused. "So, I try not to have too strong opinions one way or another."

Jessica's journey in the entertainment industry began at the age of 11 with commercial gigs and roles in independent films. She gained widespread recognition with her breakthrough role in the James Cameron-created series Dark Angel. Since then, she has starred in various films across genres and married Cash Warren in 2008.

The actress's journey underscores the importance of perseverance and adaptation in the ever-changing landscape of show business. Her experiences serve as a testament to the resilience required to navigate the challenges of the entertainment industry.
