NEW DELHI: Jet Airways has been given an air operator certificate (AOC), allowing the airline to resume commercial flight according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The Jalan-Kalrock Consortium previously said that it had successfully completed all proving flights and is now awaiting AOC approval.  "The Jalan Kalrock Consortium has met all of the requirements precedent under their NCLT-approved Resolution Plan with the issuance of the AOC. The revalidation of Jet Airways' AOC allows the airline to restart scheduled commercial flights in India. This significant milestone also prepares the path for the iconic airline's revival in a manner different, with new capital, ownership, and management "In a statement, the consortium stated.

The airline has stated that commercial operations will resume in the fourth quarter of this year (July-September 2022).  It said that the aircraft and fleet strategy, network, product and customer value proposition, loyalty programme, and other elements would be revealed in stages over the following weeks. Furthermore, other senior management appointments will be announced next week, and operational hiring will begin in earnest, with former Jet Airways employees given priority wherever possible.

Flight service will be started between Bilaspur and Bhopal from this day
