On Thursday, August 1,  the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) increased by 2%, while the cost of commercial LPG, used in hotels and restaurants, went up by Rs.6.5 per 19-kg cylinder. These changes reflect the latest adjustments in line with global oil price trends.

The cost of ATF has risen by Rs.1,827.34 per kilolitre, or 1.9%, reaching Rs.97,975.72 per kilolitre in Delhi. This marks the second consecutive monthly increase in ATF prices. On July 1, ATF prices had previously been raised by 1.2% (Rs.1,179.37 per kilolitre). This followed a significant reduction of 6.5% (Rs.6,673.87 per kilolitre) on June 1.

In Mumbai, the ATF price now stands at Rs.91,650.34 per kilolitre, up from Rs.89,908.31. Prices can vary across states due to local taxes.

Additionally, commercial LPG prices have been hiked by Rs.6.5, bringing the new rate to Rs.1,652.50 per 19-kg cylinder. This increase comes after four consecutive monthly reductions, the most recent being a Rs.30 cut per cylinder on July 1. Over the past four adjustments, commercial LPG prices had dropped by Rs.148 per cylinder.

Current commercial LPG prices are Rs.1,605 per 19-kg cylinder in Mumbai, Rs.1,764.50 in Kolkata, and Rs.1,817 in Chennai. In contrast, the price of domestic cooking gas remains stable at Rs.803 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

State-owned fuel retailers, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), update ATF and cooking gas prices on the first of each month based on average international fuel prices and foreign exchange rates.

Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged after a Rs.2 per litre reduction in mid-March. Currently, petrol is priced at Rs.94.72 per litre in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs.87.62 per litre.
